West Seattle

Without a doubt, in West Seattle, "Home is where the beach is!"  If there’s anything that West Seattle residents are passionate about, it’s West Seattle.  (And as a proud resident of West Seattle, where I’ve lived with my family for 22 years, that includes me!)

Enigmatic West Seattle is a peninsula surrounded on three sides by the waters of Puget Sound and Elliott Bay.  With a population of about 90,000, West Seattle is almost a town of its own and encompasses many smaller neighborhoods, each with its own unique name, personality and residential vibe.  Long considered the “Birthplace of Seattle”, the Statue of Liberty replica on Alki Beach marks the spot where the Denny Party rowed ashore in November of 1851.

From Seaview to Sunrise Heights, North Admiral to The Arroyos, Fairmount to Fauntleroy ~ beaches, parks, playfields, and spectacular views of mountains, sea, city, and sky abound at every turn.  Welcome to West Seattle.

The Fauntleroy ferry terminal anchors the south end of Lincoln Park, a true jewel of West Seattle, and watching the sun set from the beach path here just never gets old.   Beachy bungalows line the side streets of Alki, and luxury view condominiums nestle against the Duwamish Head bluffs.   Refresh your commute by catching the Water Taxi from the Seacrest Marina and be downtown in 15 minutes.

“The Junction”, where California Street meets Alaska Street, is home to a vibrant, urban village lifestyle with a wide variety of homes, townhomes and condominiums, and is the hub of West Seattle’s dining, shopping, weekly farmer’s market, and much more. Whatever your passion, be it running or reading, gardening, kayaking or scuba diving, find it here ~ in wonderful West Seattle.
